PURIFIED BALAYAGE

Malibu C Educator Amy Spencer and independent educator Audrey Inskeep with House of Collaboration present a look and learn class focused on prepping your canvas for proper formulation, corrective color and balayage techniques.

Amy has been a stylist since 2005. She spent the next decade building her business and continuing her personal education before opening a studio in 2014. As her thirst for knowledge and passion for teaching grew, she began immersing herself into the science behind color theory and product development. This ultimately led her to an educator position for Malibu C in 2017, followed by a publication in Beauty Launchpad in 2018.
Amy's love for helping other stylists find their "aha!" moment drives her career in education. She finds joy and purpose in watching their eyes light up while they're learning and believes that building those connections is the greatest reward as a teacher. 

Audrey began her career in 2002 but it wasn't until 2008 that her passion for color began. After discovering her love for beach-inspired hair, she spent the following decade honing her knowledge and skillset to master the techniques needed to produce sun-kissed tresses. Audrey has a love for learning and clear enthusiasm for sharing her expertise to help inspire and empower other stylists with practical, technique-based education.

At this class, Amy will demonstrate how to perform a Malibu Makeover on a live model. This process will gently detox the hair of any mineral and product buildup that could hinder the coloring process. Once this treatment is completed, Audrey will demonstrate her signature balayage technique using clay lightener on the same model.

 Class topics will include:

- Audrey's signature Beachin' Balayage placement

- Amy's tips on how to use Malibu to determine actual hair color

- Canvas preparation, color theory, and pH balancing for maximum color retention

- How to approach a color correction 

- Face framing and glossing for the perfect finish
